Please describe the case in detail

In particular please consider (a)Objectives of the intervention; (b) Tools used to achieve the project goals; (c) Methodologies applied;

Professional Workshops are organized for students once a week during the whole academic year with the WoW members who are sharing their’s professional stories with the students. The goal of this workshops is to prepare them for a professional real life.
Professional workshops have been initiated because the study programs can not all be based solely on practice, because the theoretical background is also needed. Aspira consider that the practical background should be more represented, and also, if there’s any deficit in the study program by modern achievements they are added through workshops organized in conjunction with WoW. Students practically do a lot of work that will characterize their work in the future and go out to field learning and listen to WOW experiences from their field of study. For each study different professional workshops are organized.
These workshops are most commonly applicable to the Gastronomy study program, but they are also applicable to all other study programs as a needed changes in today's society. The changes must be implemented in student learning. And professional workshops have their own goals and the outcomes of knowledge that should be checked at the end of the academic year. Students and professional workshops will eventually receive a grade and gain ECTS credits.

What resources are required for the case?

Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.

The organization of such workshops requires the involvement of the Head of the professional practice, Head of study program, experts, representatives by WoW and necessary equipment for organizing workshops.

What are the enabling factors making this case successful?

Consider institutional support, environmental/social/political factors, etc.

Organizational factors may be limiting. Part of the workshop requires the organization of participating members, additional resources, field trips, etc. With the support of an institution that is extremely needed in organizing such events, the biggest obstacle is the time that experts need to devote to transferring students' knowledge.

Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?

Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work

Workshops are an additional way to enrich and modernize existing study programs.
