The medical college of nursing provides bachelor university education in the non-medical fields of study in: General Nursing, Midwifery, Radiological Assistant and Paramedic. Our Medical College is well-equipped for the theoretical and practical teaching of all fields of study – professional classrooms, theory classrooms, a lecture hall, computer rooms with PCs connected to the Internet and library with large number of literature to study. Internships are organized in the most known hospitals and social care facilities in Prague. The College also co-operates with partners abroad on base of Erasmus+ exchange programmes (European Union Countries).
A large number of renowned specialists take part in teaching – medical doctors and nurses with university degree. Our College has its own publishing and the teachers, who work here, are also active creatively and scientifically. Many important personalities are members of the College’s Academic Board.
We realise that is very important that students acquire appropriate knowledge and competence to demanding profession of medical staff. In this context we know the following is very important:
CARITAS aims to provide qualified and practically oriented education to future social work and humanitarian aid professionals in order to work effectively and professionaly. The College was founded by Archbishop of Olomouc in 1995. Apart from the original higher vocational study programme in social work, since 2000 it also provides parallel 3-year bachelor’s degree study programmes realized in co-operation with Faculty of Theology of Palacky University in Olomouc.
The College offers two study programmes and these are (1) Charitable and Social Work, and (2) Social and Humanitarian Work. The first study programme specializes in social work methods and management in the Czech Republic, and the latter programme focuses on methods and managment of humanitarian aid and development work in less developed countries.
Practical education at CARITAS makes 30% of the curriculum and in order to achieve this, the College co-operates with 90 local partners and 50 partners in other 40 countries, at which students undertake their practical training. The key subjects of the educational programmes are Theories and methods of social work, Theories and methods of international social work and humanitarian aid, Social Policy, and foreign languages.
The College also offers a number of forms of further education and training to fieldwork professionals and is a partner to many institutions in a trans-European context. Currently, appr. 400 students study at the College; 260 are full-time students and 140 are part-time students.
The primary motivation of the College to join the evaluation project is the improvement of the current study programmes. However, this opportunity came in time of preparation of the new accrediation and curriculum, therefore it is believed that the results can be used for the development of the vocational study programmes and specialization of the College.
The Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice is the youngest public college in the country. It was founded in 2006 with the only program Business Economy. Currently the institute has besides economic fields also 3 technical fields: Transport Technology and Communication; Construction; Engineering. 4200 students including distance learning are studying in all fields. The institute from its founding emphasis on links with application sphere, engage in public administration at the regional level as well as at national level.
In 2015 the Institute became faculty of the year in the category Technology – Public and Private School and also won an award in the Best 100 Czech Companies. Further, it is also certified by European Commission with ECTS Label that guarantees the quality of higher education institutions. In 2015 the institute applied for international accreditation of the MBA program.
Our institute is part of an international program Erasmus+. In 2015 became very successful applicant for a grant International Credit Mobility Key Action 1 of program Erasmus+. 69 motilities were approved. Very attractive offer for students is the possibility of vocational training. Students can perform their vocational training in companies which are closely linked to the EU institutions. This allow them to gain very interesting experience for future employers.
Due to the professional focus of The Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice involvement into the project is regarded as huge benefit and potential. Participation in the project allows to get more experience, more contacts, develop methodology of given issue and comparison of the strategy with the intention of the European labour market. On the other hand our Institute can provide its expertise and tools which are used in communication and implementation with application sphere. More than 1500 companies that cooperate with our Institute are evidence of the continuity of academic and application sphere. Access to data of other colleges will be beneficial in solving strategies in the area of education and adapting to the conditions of the labour market.
