Who are we?
TTK University of Applied Sciences (TTK UAS) is a state professional higher education institution, offering competitive professional higher education in the fields of engineering, production, technology, architecture and construction. All 13 study programmes have passed the quality assessment and have the licence for conducting studies.
The focus of the teaching, research and development activities of TTK UAS staff is to meet the needs of the Estonian labour market and enterprises. TTK UAS offers 4-year professional higher education study programmes (240 ECTS), for daily learners, distance learners and in-service training courses in the Open University. TTK UAS is the largest university of applied sciences in Estonia, currently educating 2500 students. TTK UAS represents Estonian Rectors Council of Universities of Applied Sciences in BuildPHE and some other international projects.
Why we are participating in the project
TTK University of Applied Sciences and Estonian Rectors Council of Universities of Applied Sciences believe it is important to collaborate on European level with institutions of Professional Higher Education and national associations for PHE to design effective, efficient and replicable interventions to the specific problems faced by PHE in the relations with the world of work. There are 10 universities of applied sciences in Estonia. Estonian UASs vary in sizes and their results of external quality differ. TTK UAS believes that joint trans-national approach to PHE enables to harmonise and improve the quality of the PHE sector in Estonia.
Our role in the project
TTK University of Applied Sciences represents Estonian professional higher education institutions in the project and will bring to the project the knowledge and experience on Estonian PHE. Moreover, TTK UAS will contribute with its strong connections with all the local stakeholders, including the world of work and student representatives. The TTK UAS will coordinate the self-assessments of Estonian professional higher education institutions and organize the national validation seminar in Estonia.
TTK UAS will participate in the consortium to produce:
- a data-collection framework, which explains the criteria and how to assess one’s activities against them
- a methodology for data-collection through meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- a methodology for identifying improvement strategies to policies for cooperation with the world of work
- a collection of best practices
- a set of framework policies, which provide guidance, direction and recommended standards to help governance and administration of HEIs
