Practitioners recommended by employers are engaged as teachers of practical subjects. They are very highly evaluated by students. Graduates can also count on recommendations from teachers-practicioners when they are looking for jobs.
The employers who issue the recommendations have strong links with the University and yearly accept students for internships. They are trustworthy and are well informed about the needs of the University.
The practitioners who offer practical courses are able do discuss first hand problems of the profession. The contracts are short term. They give the institution the possibility to modify the curriculum according to market preferences.

What resources are required for the case?

Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.

Human resources are required. It is necessary to provide the practitioners with pedagogical support as they are usuallu not prepared to teach.

What are the enabling factors making this case successful?

Consider institutional support, environmental/social/political factors, etc.

Institutional support and appropriate legislation are needed.
Good preparation of the practitioners that have to be convinced in the benefit of their work and that learning outcomes relevant to their specific professional area are achieved through the classes.
Good time management and adaptation willingness of the professionals involved.
Financial resources and needed materials for practical activities.

Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?

Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work

Allows employment of teachers who are well experienced in the WoW.
The students get a true experience why each subject/module of their studies is important for their final outcome and how interconnected all these are in practice.
Very important is also the social inclusion and educational element building on personal values and as such prioritizing the importance of contributing to common and especially to community benefits and returning to own community once you learn that it is not only money needed but skills professional and soft/transversal ones that might even make a greater impact than financial means.
