The School Bureau for Cooperation Career Counselling and Project Support organizes in PWSZ periodic presentations of companies from various sectors of the labour market for second and third year students.
The main objective of the practice is to give students the chance to get to know a number of companies not just the one/ones they do their professional practice.
State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów, it is not only a didactic and scientific center for Tarnów and the Tarnów region, but also cultural facilities, a platform for social dialogue and the cradle of innovation.
Yearly Job Fair organized under the slogan: Planning, Cooperation, Development - Job Fair for "professionals" on the way of building partnerships across borders showed our capabilities and our potential not only as a campus of a university educating several thousand students, but above all as a friendlier region to cooperate - not only at the university, but also in the city and the surrounding area. The reason to participate in the Fair for the employers is to present the industry and the potential of the industry in which they operate. Participation in the fair is free; participating institutions receive a materials package.
In the organization of the Fair, labor market institutions, non-governmental organizations and educational institutions working with us aim at a well-understood development of the city and the region cooperate with us.

What resources are required for the case?

Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.

Institutional suppport is vital. Premises and competent as well as motivated staff is needed to keep up the relationships with the employers to discuss both parties' needs. Certain financial resources are needed to provide for the practicalities (refreshments, information packs, etc)

What are the enabling factors making this case successful?

Consider institutional support, environmental/social/political factors, etc.

The companies must see the HEI's students to be potential future employees in their company. It is necessary to adjust the specializations to the needs of the local/regional labour market.

Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?

Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work

It allows the students to get first hand experience of discussing possible career paths with prospective employers. It also allows potential employers to probe the job market at its roots.
