The chemical laboratory equipped with high quality testing equipment carries out commercial research activities externally comissioned by local and regional business and industry.
The State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów has a diversified equipment base available for employees and students as part of didactic classes, diploma theses and own research works. The technical base that is in the possession of laboratories is gradually developed and expanded. The following specialized laboratories deserve special mention:
Measurement laboratory of the Department of Chemistry,
Materials testing laboratory,
Laboratory of computer design materials,

What resources are required for the case?

Human resources and financial resources are required. It is necessary that the institution takes a holistic approach and systemically encourages the employees to improve their skills and competences. Also the institution needs to have an approach empowering emploees to take initiative and suggest possible improvements in equipment to keep up the highest standards.

Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work

Although it is common to have well equipped labs in Chemistry Departments this practice shows how important it it to choose lab equipment that enables cooperation of the lab with local/regional industry. It also gives the students a clear vie of what the knowledge that are acquiring may be used for in practice.
