Please describe the case in detailIn particular please consider (a)Objectives of the intervention; (b) Tools used to achieve the project goals; (c) Methodologies applied;
We join projects with business entities and local community in order to enable mutual knowledge and new technologies transfer. Also, the goal of this projects can be the collaboration agreements with business entities, students and education institutions regarding the student practice. Responsibilities on both sides when negotiating professional practices are strictly defined by contract.
The aim is to integrate Aspire into a regional environment and assimilation of students in the business world. Based on the experiences of experts and sharing their knowledge to students, Aspira is srengthening cooperation with business entities.
Tools that help to provide those goals include meetings, contracts, and various formal and informal activities that connect professionals and the business world with Aspira.
The methodology consists of a situation analysis, a synthesis of possible solutions to the problem and the concrete results. It is necessary to analyze the current state of affairs, the needs on both sides, to break down the possibilities for joint problem solving.
A good example of this cooperation is cooperation of Aspira with 5star Hotel Park at the Toursim study program. Their experts from reception, housekeeping and marketing are teachers from real world at Aspira. They are sharing their practical knowledge with students. Also, students are participating in a practical training every semester at the hotel.
When students go to practical classes, they are all tracked by contracts where, depending on which year the student is, exactly specifies which departments should undergo during practical training and which jobs to learn. The contract includes our debts and their debts. Students' knowledge and behavior during their practical work is being evaluated.
What resources are required for the case?Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.
Here are most respected human resources as well as time resources. Support is required of the institution, the Head of the Study Program, the Head of Practical Training, the support of the institutions and organizations who are cooperating with Aspira, and also the students themselves.
What are the enabling factors making this case successful?Consider institutional support, environmental/social/political factors, etc.
The most common challenge in implementing this factor is the overcrowding of experts for everyday work and the inability to seriously undertake projects delivery. Despite institutional support, the desire of experts and the availability of their time is the most important element to achieve these goals.
Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work
Inclusion of experts in teaching and sending students to professional practice is considered to be the most appreciated option for students to really understand what job they are doing and what tasks they expect in this business. Only programs that meet the needs of the labor market can be on a long-term offer of the higher education institutions.
