The Advisory Board is a consultative body connecting TTK UAS with the general public, being composed of representatives of business and cultural communities, professional associations, employers’ organisations as well as state and local government authorities.
The main task of the advisers is to advise on the development of UAS and connect the WoW with higher education. The main topics discussed by advisory board are related to the development plan of the UAS, the review of annual reports, the development of curricula, planning the admission of students etc.
Some examples of the organisations and associations, who are represented: Estonian Association of Engineers, Estonian Qualifications Authority, board of the Union of Estonian Architects, Estonian Society for Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics, Estonian Environmental Research Centre, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication, Ministry of Education and Research, Estonian Association of Construction Entrepreneurs, Estonian Machinery Industry Union, board of the Estonian Asphalt Pavement Association, Estonian Association of Car Sales and Service Companies, Estonian Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Association (PROLOG), Estonian Clothing and Textile Association.

What resources are required for the case?

Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.

The resources that are needed in this project are mostly:
1.Active and innovative advisory bord members from organisations and associations
2.Time for take part in meetings (2-4 meeting per academic year), time for organising the meetings
3.Energy and know-how (wider view of educational system and needs for future) to discuss and set the strategy of main activities (teaching&learning, RD&I)

What are the enabling factors making this case successful?

The factors making this case successful are:
1.Good co-operation with active and hard working members of bord (mainly coming from WoW)
2.Successful communication between the partners and the reputation of the TTK UAS

Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?

Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work

We considered this case to be best practice because it is good example of WoW`s activity, very practical way of co-operation between wold of work and university of applied sciences and successful form to discuss strategic questions with partners.
