Explanation of the Criterion

The RDI agenda is informed by the WoW in order to meet the needs of society and of the WoW. The focus should be on formal engagement of the WoW representatives to the governing and consulting structures within the PHE institution, its unit or programme, as well as informal communication, consulting with the WoW and how systematically it contributes to the RDI agenda.

How do you engage the WoW in developing the RDI agenda in order to meet the needs of society and of the WoW including their role in development and review of the institutional RDI strategy/agenda?
What is the institutional communication strategy with the WoW as regards RDI agenda and activities including clearly set roles and competencies (e.g. knowledge and technology transfer centres,…)?
How do you review and update the effectiveness and efficiency of communication channels with the WoW?
What would be your institution’s objectives and achievements as regards developing the RDI agenda?
Is your institutional RDI agenda in line with the regional strategy?
Is the RDI agenda well represented in the institutional strategy?
What are the obstacles for stronger cooperation with the WoW?
What are the problems regarding the developing the RDI agenda and reflecting the demands of the WoW?

Measurable indicators of quality which could be integrated within the institution

Availability of RDI agenda, how is it used (reference, alignment of processes, alignement with the regional strategy etc.)
Documents on communication/interaction with the WoW in the domain of RDI
Number of contacts with the WoW regarding RDI agenda
Satisfaction of the WoW regarding your institution RDI agenda and responsiveness
Reports of external QA and internal QA
Feedback & Review of RDI agenda
Scope and data on consulting the WoW
Monitoring achievements of developing the RDI agenda (scope of objectives met, scope of objectives relevant to the WoW within the RDI agenda, participation of the WoW…)
Presenting the RDI agenda objectives to the WoW (?)
WoW engagement within institutional advisory boards/stakeholder committees/boards, etc.

Sub-Criteria

Measurable indicators of quality which could be integrated within the institution

Institution has defined adequate and effective structures and processes for involving the WoW in setting the RDI Agenda
Institution has a coherent, transparent and effective communication strategy with the WoW regarding the RDI agenda
The Institution’s RDI agenda outlines:
- How it contributes towards the WoW and regional priorities
- What contribution is made by the WoW to the RDI agenda
