Preparation of patent applications
The University supports patent applications. Currently 3 patent applications have been submitted (automatics, ecology, 3-D modelling of human organs)

Our Centre of Technology Trasfer has assisted in preparing three patent applications:
- the laser control system of the welding robot,
- the method of 3D modelling of organs of the human body made of soft tissues,
- picture stabilization system in cameras placed on drones.
What resources are required for the case?Consider human resources, financial resources, infrastructure, in-kind resources and any other type required.
Two types of resources are needed:
- research capacities (in human and material terms)
- logistic support and know-how concerning patent applications
What are the enabling factors making this case successful?Consider institutional support, environmental/social/political factors, etc.
The main enabling factor is the research potential of the institution and interest of its staff to get involved in R&D activities
Why do you consider this case to be good/best practice?Please consider that a best practice must (a) have a clearly defined objective to increase the connection with the World of Work, (b) address the target groups of the project, (c) be replicable and sustainable, (d) have clearly demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in increasing the connection with the World of Work
In some countries (including Poland) there is a strong tendency to limit Professional Higher Education institutions only to teaching, reducing possibilities of their involvement in R&D activities. Therefore any attempt to highlight the research potential of PHE sector shall be strongly supported. Patent applications and other proofs of PHE capacities to get involved in applied research and practical problem solving strengthen the position of PHE institutions, may give additional sources of funding and lead to new cooperation possibilities with the world of work.
